Support for Students

Onyx Support understands that whilst suffering from a mental/physical condition is already a complex factor for the individual to face, anxiety and depression can also be triggered when an individual is attending higher education. This could be due to several factors such as the student having to relocate, separate from their usual support systems and services, adjust to unfamiliar methods of learning and unfamiliar professional requirements, manage studies and personal life (such as employment) and deal with financial stress. If you have been diagnosed with a physical or mental health condition, you may be entitled to Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), which is funding that covers the support and equipment you may need. For more information on DSA and how to apply please click here.

We can support students in a variety of ways, such as:

- Library Support Assistance

- Study Skills Support

- BSL Interpretation

- Note Taking

- Specialist Mentoring - Mental Health/ASD
